Why rock and roll is tagged as "music of the devil" when in fact it is good to the listening ear...?

because it used to be like 'AHH! hardcore real electric guitars' or 'AHHH! THAT BASS IS LOUD!" or "AHH! LOOK WHAT THE LEAD SINGER IS WEARING!" or "AHH! THE DRUMS ACTUALLY TAKE PART IN THE MUSIC"

it was different. so the people that were used to the same old same old crap, called it devil's music because they didnt like it.. and hey.. they didnt like the devil either, so why not put them in the same catagory?

Why rock and roll is tagged as "music of the devil" when in fact it is good to the listening ear...?
cuz bak in the 60's i think if not correct me..anyway there was only 1 type of music you would hear so the next generation (the kids) came up with this new type of music and the parents omg u cant listen to this they were going crazy parents not so good with change. and another story is that not sure if its real but one of the rock and roll records back then they played backwards to rewind and as it was rewinding they heard chants of the devil.
Reply:that "music of the devil" statement are only used to some songs because for some people. they "center" their life into the songs itself, thus if the rock and roll songs contain bad influenced things. well the person acts those things. short-range speaking. I refer to "sublimimal messaging..."

or maybe it is to the fact that some soft music lovers hates the rock and roll's loud music especially the "metal" rock?

by the way, I like rock and roll but I don't influenced myself into the songs...
Reply:Actually theres a lot of "Christian" rock %26amp; roll that is used by God. This music is sometimes used to strengthen Christians, lead them to salvation, and as praise music. Switchfoot, Stacie Orrico, and Relient K are a few examples.
Reply:because there are evil idiotic morons who think that anything that makes you feel good is sinful
Reply:All some people get out of it are lyrics they disapprove of, or how a singer dances, (Elvis), dresses (metal bands %26amp; others) or how they wear their hair (any male band with long hair). Or they don't like how fans would dance to it, thinking it's too promiscuous movement. They don't want to listen to what a song might really mean. Like that song "Dr. Feelgood" by Motley Crue. I heard that the real meaning of that song was to discourage drug dealing. So the title was actually sarcastic.

Anyway, to quote 2 groups' lyrics...

"It's Only Rock n Roll, but I Like it" ~ Rolling Stones

"Long Live Rock n Roll" ~ Def Leppard
Reply:Because obviously if you make any music like Marilyn Manson then you are different and therefore everyone who likes his different music is evil and should be burned at the stake.
Reply:it first called that by prudes during the fifties. when elvis first came out, he was the ultimate badass. he shocked the nation to its core with his hips shaking to a music which sounded raw and jungle like. rock n roll was the so call slang for shaging and it was mutated from the african american community of blues music. so being call the devil's music has got to do with its black origin and its ability to drive girls at that time to a frenzy.
Reply:It really was very old fashon, set in thier ways types of Christians who were so steeped in tradition, that they rejected anything new..especially if the young people like it! Traditonal hyms were played on an organ....period. It took a while for the piano to be excepted in some churches. Some traditions in some churches, even today, NEVER use intsruments of any kind..saying that the Lord gave us our voices and that is the only true way to worship. One thing for sure...God never changes, but people try real hard to put Him in a box, and make Him change. If you look in the Bible, it is full of references to playing music on several types of intsruments, so really, it's cool. God uses good music to draw people to Him...the devil does the same thing. It is a battle, and Christians feel they are are on the right side..(as do I)

Music can be used for good or bad, from slow hyms, to metal, and everything inbetween. AS Christians I think it is important to keep an open mind to what is going on..God does work in odd ways!

Peace!
